In these modern times we can say that we are what we eat.
Our physical and mental health, our appearance and the vitality of the body and skin are highly affected by our nutrition. Many of us suffering from acne have heard of the direct link between the food we eat and the appearance of these "pimples".  Acne is a skin condition with infection of the sebaceous glands and hair follicles. There is excessive hormonal activity and excessive producing of sebum.

A sebum gland fills and then is clogged. Within the hair follicle there are bacteria called P. Acnes and when they exist in a regular amount they do not cause any harm. When the gland is clogged, this enables them to multiply rapidly and when this happens, the body responds with an infection and that is how the pimples appear. Additional reasons for a state of acne can be excess activity of the bodily glands, consuming inappropriate food, accumulation of dead skin cells, stress, allergies and the use of medication. Acne is a very common phenomenon, experienced by the majority of the population, both sexes, at different ages.

There are certain nutritional elements that cause outbursts of acne and should be avoided. In contrast, there are certain kinds of food that are recommended to consume in order to reduce the inflammation and to help the body clean itself from toxins and to carry out a general cleaning through a special menu to treat this problem, while using the external treatment offered at the clinic.
